First Annual Black and Gold Ball

Our first annual ball was a great success and we have all who attended and supported the event to thank for it awesome outcome. The band, Que 1, performed outstandingly, even made those who couldn't dance want to. The food provided and served by Soul Food on Sunday was excellent and enjoyed by all.

We were honored to have Representative Sam Jones, the first black mayor of Mobile Alabama, as our keynote speaker. He emphasized the need for unity and complemented CMF as one striving to unite the community in Santa Rosa County. He spoke of how much more we can do together than separately. He provided the sauce we needed to press forward in bringing our community together to make a difference. CMF's Board of Directors' objectives for this annual ball are to:

  1. Provide a signature event that would make the community proud

  2. Make the community aware of CMF's presence and purpose

  3. Bring the community together to get to know each other

This year we limited the attendance to 150 to ensure we had the space for everyone to comfortably move around to meet and greet one another. Of course, we hope we can grow both the attendance and performance each year, but our ultimate aim is to make it comfortable and enjoyable. Therefore, we welcome the ideas and suggestions from the community.
